Vacation to Massachusetts

In September, we were finally able to plan a trip to visit my family on the east coast. We had a fabulous time. We not only had a great time visiting with my family, but we also did a duck tour around Boston, Boston children's museum, Freedom Trail, rode the T, Storyland in NH, Kangamangas Highway, Jackson Falls, various places in NH, Cape Cod Chip Factory tour, professional family pictures, etc. We squeezed in a lot of things in a short period of time, and add in all the family we saw and spent time with.
Bodie was great on the airplane. He was excellent the entire time while on vacation. He loved being with the family, and already misses Kami and Connor. He was so funny when we arrived in Massachusetts. He was shy with Gram, Pup, and Kami and Connor, and even Laurie. It took him at least an hour to warm up to them, and repeatedly asking if we could go home yet. Later that day, Todd walked into the room for the first time, and Bodie ran to him and gave him a big hug and kiss. He must have remembered how much he loved Todd from the last time we saw him!
Overall it was a great vacation and I am looking forward to going back. :-)

4th Birthday Bash

Bodie's fourth birthday...where did the time go? He is growing up so fast. I wish I could slow down time. It really teaches you to just enjoy every moment you have because before I know it, we will be sending him off to college.

We had Bodie's birthday bash at Gigi's and Papa Sam. He wanted a Monster Truck party, and so Gigi and I made his cake. It was so much fun to make. His birthday was fairly low key, with just water guns, slip n' slides and some pool fun. I don't think anyone made it out dry. The kids had fun getting everyone wet, and so did some of the adults. It was a very warm day, so getting wet made the weather that more bearable.

9 Year Wedding Anniversary

Wow! 9 Years of wedding bliss...where did the time go? In some ways it seems like yesterday, and in other ways, it feels like we have known each other our whole lives. We married our best friend. We have been mesmerized by the strength each other has for everything we have been through. Although I came down with some type of sickness the night before, we still managed to have a great anniversary. I stayed home from work with a fever and all, but I stayed in bed and tried to get as much sleep as possible and flush my system with as much fluid and vitamins as I could stand. By 6pm, I was ready to go hit the town. We went for dinner at Suede Blue in Roseville and we spent the night in Roseville too. The next morning, breakfast was delivered to the room. Then we had a couples massage. It was truly a relaxing 24 hours and it was great to just be ED and MARCIE again, without having to be mom and dad too. We both were excited to get home and be with the boy by Friday afternoon though. :-) We like to get away, but we don't like to be gone for too long. As it was, he was, and I quote, "missing his mommy and daddy because he is in love with them".

Vacation time

Well it is that time of the year again! We leave today for vacation. It is so exciting and a very special trip for our family. First, we are going with very close friends of ours and their son. If that isn't exciting enough, but we also are going to Disney!!! To top it off, with all the planning, packing, etc, we haven't told either of the kids. So today at 2pm, we will be picking up the boys, and we are so excited to see their faces. They will be so surprised. I am not sure what I am more excited about, the surprise or being in Disney.
We only have an hour left of work, and then we are driving down. Look for a post and pics when we come back.

Mother's Day, and Misc.

Mother's Day 2010...The weather was sometimes sunny, sometimes cloudy, sometimes sprinkling, but overall it was a beautiful day. We went out on Jenny and Tom's boat, with all the grandparents, and Sue. There was fabulous food made by all. We went down the Sac River. We had a part time visitor on the boat...Daisy the Duck. She was very adventurous and even entered the boat. It was probably the food we were enticing her with though. Did you know ducks don't really like nuts, but they love crackers! We also saw a seal, and boy was he big!!!

It was an enjoyable mother's day out on the boat, enjoying the sun, sea, and a great group of people!

Bodie is doing great with wearing his underwear to bed. I can't get over how well he is adjusting! He hasn't even asked about his diapies.

Right now, we are preparing to go to Disney. Bodie doesn't know we are going. It is going to be a blast on the day we pick him up from school and start driving down there. He won't know what hit him.

Three days!!!

Three days ago, Bodie decided that he didn't want to wear a 'diapie' (pull-up) to bed. We told him why he wears 'diapie's' and that it is such a big boy decision to not wear one. He really wanted to not wear one, and so when he was putting his PJ's on that night, he made sure that he wore his underwear! That night was smooth sailing. Same with the second night. Then last night, still dry! He even got up around 430am and used the bathroom! We were shocked! As a reward this morning, we took him to the donut shop and we also gave him a toy from our little stash of reward toys for him as well. If he can go 7 days without an accident, it might be worth a trip to the toy store! He is so very proud of himself, and we are very proud of our big boy!
