Attachment to Fred

As all things owned by a little boy, Fred got dirty and needed a tubby. Usually this is no big feat. I explain to Bodie that Fred needs a tubby, and so Bodie will put Fred in the washing machine. He's fine until the door locks and he sees the drum tumble and realizes that Fred won't be coming out out of the washing machine very soon. So for the next 30 minutes, Bodie will occasionally sit in front of the washing machine to make sure Fred is still okay in there. Well, this particular time, Bodie was so excited when the washing machine dinged. Bodie went running to the hallway, and as I put the clothes in the dryer, he just HAD to see, smell, and hold his Fred. Too cute!

Making an appearance at a local party near you!

Well, tonight Bodie decided who/what he wanted to be for halloween, and since we were out, we looked for his costume. We found it, and Bodie loves it. We are already talking about how we are going to transform it to a stuffed animal after Halloween. Tonight I got some pics of Bodie in it, in between him running around the house in it. He is so cute!

So as you will soon tell, Bodie is going to be a Dino-Rider...and his dinosaur name? Coco-Head! Bodie named him.

Bodie's Third Birthday

Today we had Bodie's birthday party. It was conflicting since today was also Ed's birthday, but Ed didn't mind and niether did Bodie. We had the party at Jody's apartment complex. Although there were some issues about a week ago, it was worked out, and it went over great. There were approximately 20 people there. The food was delicious, and the company was great. Bodie had Logan and Amy to play with in the pool, and so it was great to see the three musketeers back together again. Jody and I threw one awesome party...and I couldn't have done it without her! Thank you also to Marilyn, who helped us set up today! It was a well orchestrated party, and Bodie had a blast! He loved playing in the water having 'swimming races' with the other kids, and seeing his family and friends!

Fun at the Water Park

Tonight we took Bodie to the water park. There is a new park that just opened up a town over, and they installed a water feature. A friend of ours is having a party there on the day of Bodie's party...oh how I wish we could go. Bodie had a blast there tonight, and I can only imagine having a party there. Maybe next year! Bodie is a bit water shy at first, and he hates getting water in his eyes, but he loved running through the water sprouts (water shooting up from the ground).

We got visited by Mickey Mouse's Cousin

For the past week, we have had a visitor...Mickey Mouse's cousin, Furball. You didn't know he had a cousin, huh? Well, he does, and let me tell you, I am going to be hard pressed to NOT let the boys get a new pet. They have had so much fun over the last week...they are going to have a hard time giving Furball back to his family. The Quade's were on vacation, visiting the real Mickey, and we were in charge of taking care of Furball. I was fine with it...as long as I didn't have to hold him. Ed is an old pro at taking care of hamsters, and he was looking forward to it. The first night, at about 2am, Ed heard a noise from the living room. He said it sounded like a golf ball falling on our hard wood floor. He came to the living room to find Furball ON TOP of his cage. Thankfully he didn't get too far! He hasn't been able to escape since, which I am thrilled about. Every night the boys would put Furball into his ball, and let him run around. I swear Furball must have ran a mile everyday in that ball. Also, Ed would let Furball crawl all over him...the last couple of days, Furball has become very daring.
Jake and Kita have loved having Furball too, but are mad at us for not letting them get closer to him! They probably think he tastes like chicken!

No one gets a free ride....Ed makes Furball walk back to his cage.

New Milestone-Pooping on the Toilet

I have attached a few pictures of Bodie. The other day I was hanging clothes out on the line, and he wanted to help, so I told him to go put some shoes on. He came out wearing a swedish winter hat and winter slip on ugg shoes. It was so cute, we had to take a picture. Yesterday, Ed took Bodie to get a haircut. This has been a daunting task over the last year. He fights us, and we have only been able to do trims. The guy that Ed took him to was awesome! So at least he is ready for summer. Sorry Uncle Brian...no buzz cut!

On Monday, June 1st, Bodie pooped in the toilet for the first time. I put his potty chair in the living room and had him watch his favorite show. I had a feeling it was only a matter of time, and sure enough, he did it! I still am not sure if he understands what is going on, but at least he isn't afraid of the potty. Tuesday he was able to have a repeat performance! So that was thrilling too, but then again, this morning (Wednesday) he had an accident. The peeing part is almost 100% complete, and has been for a bit. He wears underwear to school all the time, and does not want to wear pull ups anymore, so Ed and I are excited about that.

He can count, he can count, he can count!

Well, our little baby is not so much a baby these days. When we were on vacation, a few of us were showing Bodie how to count with his fingers. So whenever we would count to him, he would act like he was counting on his fingers. I knew it was only a matter of time before he started counting to 5. To my surprise, yesterday he was counting to 10, with very little assistance.

He couldn't wait to tell Kollin, but Kollin was still at school, so he called the next best thing...Auntie Abby! I tried to get him to let me call any of his grandparents, but he said no..he wanted only his Auntie Abby. Last night, Ed was out late helping a friend paint, and so Bodie HAD to stay up and wait for his daddy to come home so he could show him his new 'trick'. I think his new 'trick' surprised both Ed and I, as it seems like it all just happened overnight.

Tonight we are going to see Kollin, which Bodie is so excited about. He keeps telling me he "wants to play t-balls with Kollin and Uncle Brian". He has been asking me everyday when I pick him up from school if he can go to Kollin's house. I think he is missing his buddy Kollin! I am not sure that kid is going to nap at school today because he was so excited this morning!

Finally the time is here....

Today is Friday and we will be starting our first real-go somewhere other than Massachusetts-vacation! Bodie is finally starting to feel better. He has been sleeping great the last couple of nights...11 to 12 hours a night. So he is on the mend. I am sure that one or more two days would have really helped, but we don't have that kind of time at this point...at least he isn't vomiting anymore, and the diarrhea seems to have stopped. We leave tonight, and we aren't even packed. I had to work today, so the little things will have to wait until I get home. Thankfully Ed has been able to handle most of them already, but he doesn't dare to attempt to pack, because I will just unpack everything to make sure that he doesn't forget anything...like my dad one year. How do you forget to pack your underwear for vacation? Beyond me, but he managed to do it.
Anywho, we are so ready for some relaxation and fun! I am also looking forward to seeing my family, and spending time together! I will try and update as the week progresses...but no promises!

The Miserable Saturday Trip

Ed and I had many plans for the 18th of April. Unfortunately, all of our plans came to a halting stop, and so we decided to go to plan B. So Discovery Kingdom here we come! Ed's cousin and her son were able to join us this time around, and the Hansen clan met us there. On our drive down, we hit traffic, and it took us a bit to get to Vallejo. There were other things that happened on our way down...like being offered beer and pot....Yes...screwy!!!

So we finally make it to the park, and Mr. B was in a rare mood. I know that kids have their bad days too, but this was beyond a bad day. When it comes down to Bodie's safety, I am overly paranoid. Bodie didn't want to hold our hands ("Walk like a big boy"), and there were way too many people to be pulling that crap. He was running from Ed and I, and so it only took two times for Ed and I to start really doing the time outs, firm talking to's, etc...and eventually the ultimate...we had to leave the park. Of course, that wasn't until 5 pm or so. I was thinking he wasn't going to see his third birthday-either he would go missing or I was going to kill him! LOL. Ed and I talked about it on the way home last night, and we both think that yesterday was the worst day we have had with Bodie. He has never acted this bad...and we have been severley lucky. I just hope that he doesn't try and pull this crap when we are on vacation, or we will be going back to the hotel! I have some tricks up my sleeve between now and then. Today he wasn't listening, and I took away a toy, and he started listening immediately. So it is working. We'll see what the next 12 days hold in store for that little man! I am just happy that today we have our well behaved little boy back!!!

Discovery Kingdom

A little late! A couple of weeks ago the Redmond Family went to Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. We also went with another family...Bodie's little girlfriend Amy and her parents and her parents and little brother. We had so much fun! We can't wait to go again. Oh and the kids had fun too. When we were leaving, we realized we completely missed 1/2 of the park, so next time we are determined to see rides outside of Thomas Town! :-)

What are TRUE friends?

Friends come and go in your life. They might make you laugh and cry, but most importantly of all, they love you for who you are. It doesn't matter what a person looks like or what kind of clothes they wear. It is what is on the inside that counts. It is the actions they take, no matter how big or small, to show how much of a good friend they are, and being there for you no matter what, even when things are bad.

A TRUE friend is someone you can trust and who won't judge you. Despite what someone may think, talking about a friend behind their back is not a true friend. A TRUE friend will not care how much you have..or have not. A TRUE friend will be there no matter what your situation is. A TRUE friend will put forth the effort to remain your friend, and will try to bridge the distance.

I can only speak on what I feel. I will go to the ends of the earth for a friend, in good times and bad. I hope that my TRUE friends know that and know that I love them with all of my heart. I appreciate my friendships and I never take them for granted.
Sure I have had people come into my life, and some of them have gone out of my life. I have to believe that they aren't in my life for a reason. I know that for a few, I was just tired of putting in the effort and not seeing the effort in return. Also, I am not into the game playing. Life is different for everyone. We don't pass judgement, and we expect that our TRUE friends won't pass judgement on us. I don't need any DRAMA in my life. So if you really want to know what we are up to, stop asking others and put in the effort. We haven't gone anywhere...our email is still the same, and the same goes for our phone.

This week in the Redmond Family 4/8/09

Well, today we are getting ready for Easter. We are coloring eggs, and rumor has it that the Easter Bunny was working on Bodie's basket today. It is exciting. This is the first year that Bodie understands about the Easter Bunny, and we can enjoy coloring eggs with him. So this should be fun. Ed's mom is up tonight and we are going to be coloring eggs with her. For now though, the eggs are boiling, and we are waiting for them to finish cooking.

Big things are going on in my company this week. I am preparing to go to my convention in July, and last night I was able to win a prize that paid for 1/2 of my convention fee. I was thrilled. Also, in the month of March, I did so well in sales that I moved up two positions in the company (Thank you Abby and Sandra!) and was able to earn a special package that contains a lot of products that I have been wanting. I have a party next week, and it should put me in reach of another special package, and possibly another promotion. My upline is impressed with how well I am doing.

Ed is doing well. He has been really concentrating on getting fit. He is running almost four miles a day, and Jake and Kita have been keeping up with him. Sure, Jake has his days where he won't move, but most days, they are right beside him. The last few days have been cool and rainy, and so the drastic change in weather has been affecting both Ed and Jake, and so walking is an issue for the time being. I know Ed though, he will get right back into it.

Bodie got his school pictures back yesterday. I will scan them in and post them here. They are adorable! Let me know if you want one! He is doing great, and is talking up a storm. The other day we were at a store, and we had just finished checking out, and the cashier said Goodbye, and Bodie turned to her and said "Peace Out". Too cute. Tonight he asked for something, and we said no, and he immediately said "Oh Man!" The things he is saying these days just have us cracking up. The things that come out of the mouths of babes, right.....
So we are looking forward to going to see the Sox next week...the game won't get here quick enough!
For now, I am off to color eggs...

Bedtime on Sunday

It is 9:15pm on a Sunday night...where did the weekend go? And to top it off, even the little one is wondering the same. I think that he figured if he just didn't go to bed, it would bring the weekend back. We just managed to get him to go to bed. We did the ol' good cop/bad cop routine. I got to be the good cop this time. :-) Oh man, was he stubborn. I am sure Ed and I were never that stubborn..Nope, NEVER! hehehe We are grateful that on most nights, he goes right down without any issues. I am sure in Disney he will be passed out before his head hits the pillow! We can't wait. He loves fast rides, and going to the amusement park, and so this will not be any different...except that he will be with his Gram and Pup, and some of his favorite people..yes, namely the two people he talks about constantly...Kam and Con! We can't wait to see everyone!!! I have attached some pictures of the last month or so. I will try and add more later. I am off to bed!
