The Miserable Saturday Trip

Ed and I had many plans for the 18th of April. Unfortunately, all of our plans came to a halting stop, and so we decided to go to plan B. So Discovery Kingdom here we come! Ed's cousin and her son were able to join us this time around, and the Hansen clan met us there. On our drive down, we hit traffic, and it took us a bit to get to Vallejo. There were other things that happened on our way down...like being offered beer and pot....Yes...screwy!!!

So we finally make it to the park, and Mr. B was in a rare mood. I know that kids have their bad days too, but this was beyond a bad day. When it comes down to Bodie's safety, I am overly paranoid. Bodie didn't want to hold our hands ("Walk like a big boy"), and there were way too many people to be pulling that crap. He was running from Ed and I, and so it only took two times for Ed and I to start really doing the time outs, firm talking to's, etc...and eventually the ultimate...we had to leave the park. Of course, that wasn't until 5 pm or so. I was thinking he wasn't going to see his third birthday-either he would go missing or I was going to kill him! LOL. Ed and I talked about it on the way home last night, and we both think that yesterday was the worst day we have had with Bodie. He has never acted this bad...and we have been severley lucky. I just hope that he doesn't try and pull this crap when we are on vacation, or we will be going back to the hotel! I have some tricks up my sleeve between now and then. Today he wasn't listening, and I took away a toy, and he started listening immediately. So it is working. We'll see what the next 12 days hold in store for that little man! I am just happy that today we have our well behaved little boy back!!!

Discovery Kingdom

A little late! A couple of weeks ago the Redmond Family went to Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. We also went with another family...Bodie's little girlfriend Amy and her parents and her parents and little brother. We had so much fun! We can't wait to go again. Oh and the kids had fun too. When we were leaving, we realized we completely missed 1/2 of the park, so next time we are determined to see rides outside of Thomas Town! :-)

What are TRUE friends?

Friends come and go in your life. They might make you laugh and cry, but most importantly of all, they love you for who you are. It doesn't matter what a person looks like or what kind of clothes they wear. It is what is on the inside that counts. It is the actions they take, no matter how big or small, to show how much of a good friend they are, and being there for you no matter what, even when things are bad.

A TRUE friend is someone you can trust and who won't judge you. Despite what someone may think, talking about a friend behind their back is not a true friend. A TRUE friend will not care how much you have..or have not. A TRUE friend will be there no matter what your situation is. A TRUE friend will put forth the effort to remain your friend, and will try to bridge the distance.

I can only speak on what I feel. I will go to the ends of the earth for a friend, in good times and bad. I hope that my TRUE friends know that and know that I love them with all of my heart. I appreciate my friendships and I never take them for granted.
Sure I have had people come into my life, and some of them have gone out of my life. I have to believe that they aren't in my life for a reason. I know that for a few, I was just tired of putting in the effort and not seeing the effort in return. Also, I am not into the game playing. Life is different for everyone. We don't pass judgement, and we expect that our TRUE friends won't pass judgement on us. I don't need any DRAMA in my life. So if you really want to know what we are up to, stop asking others and put in the effort. We haven't gone anywhere...our email is still the same, and the same goes for our phone.

This week in the Redmond Family 4/8/09

Well, today we are getting ready for Easter. We are coloring eggs, and rumor has it that the Easter Bunny was working on Bodie's basket today. It is exciting. This is the first year that Bodie understands about the Easter Bunny, and we can enjoy coloring eggs with him. So this should be fun. Ed's mom is up tonight and we are going to be coloring eggs with her. For now though, the eggs are boiling, and we are waiting for them to finish cooking.

Big things are going on in my company this week. I am preparing to go to my convention in July, and last night I was able to win a prize that paid for 1/2 of my convention fee. I was thrilled. Also, in the month of March, I did so well in sales that I moved up two positions in the company (Thank you Abby and Sandra!) and was able to earn a special package that contains a lot of products that I have been wanting. I have a party next week, and it should put me in reach of another special package, and possibly another promotion. My upline is impressed with how well I am doing.

Ed is doing well. He has been really concentrating on getting fit. He is running almost four miles a day, and Jake and Kita have been keeping up with him. Sure, Jake has his days where he won't move, but most days, they are right beside him. The last few days have been cool and rainy, and so the drastic change in weather has been affecting both Ed and Jake, and so walking is an issue for the time being. I know Ed though, he will get right back into it.

Bodie got his school pictures back yesterday. I will scan them in and post them here. They are adorable! Let me know if you want one! He is doing great, and is talking up a storm. The other day we were at a store, and we had just finished checking out, and the cashier said Goodbye, and Bodie turned to her and said "Peace Out". Too cute. Tonight he asked for something, and we said no, and he immediately said "Oh Man!" The things he is saying these days just have us cracking up. The things that come out of the mouths of babes, right.....
So we are looking forward to going to see the Sox next week...the game won't get here quick enough!
For now, I am off to color eggs...

Bedtime on Sunday

It is 9:15pm on a Sunday night...where did the weekend go? And to top it off, even the little one is wondering the same. I think that he figured if he just didn't go to bed, it would bring the weekend back. We just managed to get him to go to bed. We did the ol' good cop/bad cop routine. I got to be the good cop this time. :-) Oh man, was he stubborn. I am sure Ed and I were never that stubborn..Nope, NEVER! hehehe We are grateful that on most nights, he goes right down without any issues. I am sure in Disney he will be passed out before his head hits the pillow! We can't wait. He loves fast rides, and going to the amusement park, and so this will not be any different...except that he will be with his Gram and Pup, and some of his favorite people..yes, namely the two people he talks about constantly...Kam and Con! We can't wait to see everyone!!! I have attached some pictures of the last month or so. I will try and add more later. I am off to bed!
